I graduated in 1996 from Auburn University at Montgomery with a Bachelor's in Science Degree in Elementary Education (Grades K-6).

This is my 23rd year teaching in the Alexander City School System, with all being at Stephens Elementary School.  I taught Reading Intervention my first year in education and followed with twenty years in the third grade classroom, where I have taught all subject areas.  This year, I begin my second year as the Technology Teacher for our third and fourth grade students.  I have also been employed as a third grade teacher in the After the Bell Program for the past eight years.

I grew up in Alexander City and attended the Alexander City School System.  I graduated in 1991 from Benjamin Russell High School and continued my education at Central Alabama Community College for the next two years on an art scholarship.  I transfered to Auburn University at Montgomery and graduated in 1996 and then began my teaching career at Stephens Elementary.  I am married to Lisa Morgan, who is the Media Specialist at Jim Pearson, and we have two children.  Our son attends Troy University, and our daughter is a third grade student at Stephens Elementary.  My inspiration to become a teacher came from an elementary teacher that I had at Radney.  Raymond Caffey always made learning fun and had a positive attitude toward his students.  I do my best each day to carry that attitude into my own classroom.  In my free time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time with my family.
